What Is A Laser?
Laser Therapy IN SARASOTA & SURROUNDING AREAS
The energy created by a laser is capable of cutting or shaping tissues, making lasers an ideal instrument for dental procedures.
- L: LIGHT
- A: AMPLIFICATION
- S: STIMULATED
- E: EMISSION OF
- R: RADIATION
Laser Usage
We operate three different lasers in our practice. While periodontal laser therapy is not appropriate for all procedures, it has a distinct advantage when applicable:
- Frenectomies
- Cosmetic gingival recontouring
- Laser-assisted osseous surgery
- Free gingival grafting
- Treatment of cold and canker sores
- Biopsy removal
Benefits
- COMFORT: With laser treatment, there is reduced or no bleeding, minimized swelling, and no drill noise or vibration. The stress and anxiety often associated with dental work is therefore eliminated.
- FASTER RECOVERY TIME
- REDUCED RISK OF INFECTION: The laser's high energy beam acts as a sterilizer on the area it is working, thereby reducing the risk of bacterial infections and relapses.
