Conscious Oral Sedation

Your comfort is our top priority. Conscious Oral Sedation is an alternative to IV sedation. It is minimal sedation that allows patients to remain awake, but feel relaxed. Combined with local anesthetic, you will experience little to no discomfort.  Under this medication, you may feel very drowsy or even fall asleep, but you will not become unconscious. Therefore, you should plan to have someone bring you to the appointment and be available to drive you home following treatment. If you have fear of dental procedures, Conscious Oral Sedation may be right for you as it helps to alleviate anxiety.

IV Sedation

IV Sedation, also known as general anesthesia, uses medications to allow the patient to go to sleep while receiving dental treatment. If you have extensive tooth decay, are undergoing a surgical dental procedure, have high levels of anxiety of other special needs, then general anesthesia might be a good fit for you. You can discuss the benefits and risks with your doctor.
