Soft Tissue Grafting
Healthy gingiva (gums) is critical to the health and esthetics of natural teeth, but also of dental implants. This tissue acts as a natural defense against bacteria and local trauma. Research has shown that healthy attached gingiva will prolong the life and health of dental implants.
Our doctor will assess the quality and quantity of soft tissue at the planned implant site during your consultation. If indicated, a thin piece of tissue may be taken from the roof of the mouth or tuberosity (behind the last upper molar).
